The Blankie

C has a best friend. It is her blankie. D's mom made C this Care Bear blanket before she was even born and over the past several months C and the blankie have become one. She goes nowhere without it. She eats, sleeps, and plays with her blankie.

The other day, C fell down outside and came running in the house crying. I bent down and stretched my arms out to comfort my poor little baby. She ran right by me, picked up her blankie, and buried her face in it. Ouch.

Needless to say, the blankie is ready for a good cleaning by the time laundry day rolls around (usually much sooner than that actually). While my mom was in town C soiled her blanket in the night and despite my best tactical efforts, I was unable to retrieve the blanket for a washing until a couple of days had gone by. I know, it's disgusting. Enough was enough. It was time to make another one. I was careful to buy the exact same fabric, the exact same trim for the edge, and the exact same yarn to tie the quilt. With my mom's help, we made a duplicate.

The original is in the top left, with the duplicate next to it. We also had enough fabric left over to make two little baby blankets.

Sometimes we use one for O.

But mostly, we use them for Ross Keon. What? That's his name.

Check his birth certificate if you don't believe me.

Anyway, enough about Ross. The point of the story is that C could not be fooled. D put her to bed with the fake one a few nights ago and she cried and cried and cried some more. I finally realized she didn't have "the original," tracked it down, and took it up to her. She stopped crying immediately and went to sleep. She's a smart little cookie.

We've had some good fun over the whole blankie obsession. It never gets old to take her blanket and cuddle with it causing her to drop whatever she's doing and tear across the room at full speed screaming "MINES!" Adorable. Come over and try it sometime.

Our Little Guy

Here are some recent pictures of O. Poor little guy hasn't gotten the blog time he deserves. He didn't even get a "My Baby is 1 Month Old!" post. Such is life with two kids.
As you can see, he's just adorable.

And precious too.

I tried a little experiment. He was too ashamed to look at the camera.

This one's for Aunt Audrey. Cute little monkey.

He has awesome hair.
