Late last night C's precious hair fell victim to the sharp edges of some ill-placed scissors. C's most remarkable feature, her hair was her trademark from the moment she was born. It will be missed dearly. The family is accepting donations in the form of bows, barettes, wigs, and headbands.
You want to know the real kicker? We were supposed to get our long awaited, much anticipated family pictures taken by the talented Whitni Parker tonight and now that won't be happening.
It's amazing how much Claire suddenly looks like Dallan in the wet-hair pictures!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm soo sorry...but she's so cute anyway!! I've been wondering when that is going to happen over here since Abby asked the other day for scissors to cut Hannah's hair. Good luck! And we'll be there the 19th-21st. Hopefully see you soon.
ReplyDeleteOh Bethany! I cried too but mostly from laughing so hard from the mullet Claire gave herself. Seriously I can totally see why you'd be upset. You'll laugh about this one day. I think all kids give themselves a haircut at one time or another. It's a right of passage. I think she looks exactly like Braton after her bath. It'll grow back. I'd love to donate some hair but since Amaya barely has hair I can't help.
ReplyDeleteBethany - I'm SO sorry. That's devastating for a mom. I wish our kids could grasp the concept of irreparable damages. Maybe Dallan can have a good father-daughter discussion about it. Luckily she isn't dependent on her hair to be completely adorable. (Hmm, she looks a bit like David Cassidy from his Partridge family days. HA)
ReplyDeleteOh Claire. Claire, Claire, Claire. Why do you want to do something like that... to your mommy?
ReplyDeleteI, too thought it looked a bit mullet-ish. And she's probably the only human alive who can pull off a mullet and still look cute. :)
It'll grow, friend. It'll grow.
That's got to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen...I'm so sorry Bethany! At least she's still so cute...I really couldn't stop laughing, and I'm at work. ps...I'm finally set up to follow all of your blogs and once I get the motivation to participate I'll add to mine!!
ReplyDeleteBusiness in the front, party in the back! That's what my receptionist thought too :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! Not her beautiful hair! The hair everyone has been coveting since her birth. I am so sorry! So so so sorry! Just tell yourself she's a creative artist - they all have to do something like this once in their life.
ReplyDeleteHang in there Mom...don't you just love it when they utilize their agency at the most inopportune times?...right before pictures. ugh!
ReplyDeleteI remember when Taylor fell and scraped her whole face, after I warned her about running in crocs, poor girl, and my first thought (after making sure she wasn't in mortal danger) "what am I going to do about Easter pictures?"
I am so sorry Bethany. Oh my goodness. How insane that you were supposed to get pics last night too. That girl grows hair faster than any other little girl I know. It will be back.
ReplyDeleteOh Bethany!! It will grow back faster than what you think probably! I will say that she is one cute girl with a mullet! One day you will look back and laugh- until then, hide all the pictures of Claire with her hair, it will bring back memories!!
ReplyDeleteOhhh. No fun at all. Kids and scissors. It's something else! She is still a doll and thankfully, hair grows quickly.
ReplyDeleteThat is really sad...we definitely want to get an upclose look at the new "do" before we leave.
ReplyDeleteOh No! You need to get some of those crocheted hats with the giant gerbera daisies on them. I think they have them at the boutique by stride rite
ReplyDeleteOh that is so sad! But at least she is so cute! Sorry about missing out on the family pics! Another day maybe - it does seem like a great photographer. I'll look forward to when you DO get to have those pictures taken.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh!!! i feel so bad for you but i can't stop laughing. wow. that is really bad.
ReplyDeleteA scratch or some drool on a baby's face...I can fix a lot in photoshop...but unfortunately, I can't make Claire's hair reappear. I wish I could. Oh, I am so sorry. So, so, sorry. I have been eyeing the beauty of your children since you moved here...wanting to get my camera on their big, beautiful eyes. Its gonna happen in the future. I know it is.
